GibŪ Rondo Plasterboard Fixing System Technical Notes The GibŪ Rondo ceiling batten is a cold rolled section manufactured from galvanized steel. It provides you with a stable, accurate and lightweight steel framing system which is ideal for the application of GibŪ Plasterboard. Will not bend, twist or warp and therefore maintains a straight and true ceiling once installed. Lightweight and easy to install Allows the versatility of either fixing, adjustable leveling clips or fixing directly to the substrate. The system has a mid-span joiner which enables the batten to be joined anywhere, not just under a truss or joist. This saves time and eliminates wastage in site. Rolled edges on the GibŪ Rondo batten make it safe and easy to handle Improves acoustic performance Installation/Construction Process Fix the GibŪ Rondo Perimeter Channel to the ribbon plate of the wall framing parallel to the truss. (The perimeter channel is only required at each end of the battens) Fix using 32mm x 8g GibŪ Wafer head Grabber Screws at 600mm centers max. Adjust levels as necessary the drive completely home. Insert two further nails to complete the connection. Hook one side of the GibŪ Rondo into the clip and squeeze the batten sides together and push up into the clip. Release the batten and ensure and ensure it is locked into each side of the clip. Fix GibŪ Plaster Board using 25mm x 6g GibŪ Grabber Screws at 600mm centers or at 200mm centers at the perimeter only. Apply GibŪ Fix Metal Bond glue daubs (25mm x 25mm to battens at 200, 400, 800 and 1000mm centes) NB: do not use bond glue when installing fire rated GibŪ adhesive fixing is not permitted. |
