Game 1 (Groundwater Tanking & Basements):

This exercise involves researching and providing detailing solutions for the Groundwater Tanking and Basement detailing of the Visiting Professors Car parking Garage. A partially complete model showing the site of the garage and the location of the details to be completed is provided.

 

 

 

 

AIMS:

- become familiar with the principles of basements, floors, walls and membranes and applications to non-domestic construction.

- learn the terminology and vocab associated with Groundwater Tanking and Basement construction.

- understand the sequence of construction.

- familiarity of applicable Building Code Clauses.

- develop an understanding of common building failures associated with Ground Water Tanking and Basement construction Skills.

 

 

 

 

TASKS:

In this exercise you will be using an already prepared ArchiCAD model of a car-parking garage that houses a car for the visiting Professor to sample some of the local New Zealand architecture. You will be required to complete two details that deal with Groundwater Tanking and Basement construction. On the model given, all the site information and location of the details to be completed is given. The details should be drawn as part of the original model and created as 3D solid model objects. Sectional and 3D views should be set up for each of the details showing appropriate information about your researched and investigated solution.
